AL’s Chemical Health and Safety Officer (CHSO) maintains an inventory of hazardous substances used in the facility through AL’s chemical inventory system with quantities, associated hazards, and references to each corresponding safety data sheet (SDS).  For each hazardous substance on the inventory, specific information on any associated health or safety hazards must be made readily available to all laboratory personnel upon request.  

To view SDS or the inventory of a chemical in our facility, navigate to https://umces.accelerate.ehs.com.

From there, you can login to the system using the credentials provided on the last page of our printed Emergency Guide posted throughout the facility.  Upon successful login, AL’s eBinder, which is a database of all chemicals located in the facility, will be viewable:

To search for a particular chemical, type its name in the search box at the top of the page and select “All Categories” or “Product Name” as your search location:

Select the chemical of interest from the list of returned search results by clicking on its name:

This will load a display of that page that will allow you to download a pdf copy of the SDS (click “View PDF) and view the inventory locations and amounts of this material.  In this case for the Fisher Scientific sodium persulfate, we currently have two containers found in one location:

To view the product inventory, click “View Product Inventory” and apply the location filters on the left side of the screen to drill down to the container(s) location:

Clicking on the laboratory location will open a flyout listing of all current containers.  You can also click the “View All Containers” button:

You can then view the initial quantity and the specific container information, including the container type and when it was added to the inventory:
