Working near busy roadways can pose additional risks.  To minimize the potential for injury, be sure to take the following precautions:

• Wear high visibility clothing.
• Use an emergency light or beacon on your vehicle.
• Deploy traffic Cones along the shoulder of the road to warn other drivers of your presence.
• Exercise extreme Caution at all times, particularly when crossing roadways.
• Take care when stopping and parking your vehicle.  Be sure to pull as far off the road as possible.

High Visibility Vests

The lab has orange emergency vests available for use while in the field.  They are branded with our logo and marked as “research staff” on the back.  They have reflective tape and are orange to also help during hunting seasons.  Visit this page to learn more.
