Dual action building fire alarms are located near all stairwells and exits in the building.  With dual action pull stations, you’ll need to carry out two actions to activate them.  An example is shown below. To activate the alarm, first remove the clear plastic cover and then push above the white handle and pull it down.

Exit the building via the nearest, safest exit and meet at the Rally Point (flagpole near main building entrance).

What Happens Next?

When the fire alarm is activated, notifications immediately commence to FSU Campus Police and members of the AL Emergency Response Team.

If conditions are safe, members of the Emergency Response Team will sweep the building to ensure that everyone has exited safely.  The building alarm will sometimes be silenced in these situations. Always  remain outside at the Rally Point until someone tells you that it is safe to return.

Please note:  activating the fire alarm will NOT trigger the sprinkler system.
